  • Tasnoba Tahsin is a faculty member in Journalism and Media Studies with a strong passion for teaching, research, and using communication as a catalyst for social change. Her academic journey began at the University of Chittagong, where she graduated at the top of her class in both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication and Journalism. She was honored with multiple merit scholarships, including the UGC Scholarship and the daily Azadi merit scholarship, in recognition of her academic performance.

    She completed an internship at Channel 24, gaining practical, hands-on experience in journalism and strengthening her professional skills in news reporting and media production.

    Before joining academia, She worked as a Project Officer in the Health & Gender Support Project (Women Friendly Space) at BRAC, supporting women and adolescent girls in the Rohingya refugee response through case management, health communication, gender awareness, psychosocial support, and community engagement. This experience strengthened her commitment to development communication, inspired many of her research interests, and enhanced her communication skills.

    Currently, She teach undergraduate courses including English for the Media, Multimedia Reporting, Development Communication, Media and Society, Research Methodology, and Social & Political Process and Institutions. Alongside teaching, she actively supervise student research, multimedia field projects, and internships while contributing to curriculum development and academic initiatives. Beyond academia, she regularly write  opinion editorials for national newspapers.

    She is an Executive Committee Member of the Communication and Journalism Educators' Network (CJEN) Bangladesh and a member of the Bangladesh Communication Association (BCA).

    Her research particularly focuses on health communication, media framing, misinformation, multimedia journalism and AI in journalism. She has presented her work at national and international conferences, served as a Research Fellow with DW Akademie Asia, and published research on constructive journalism, health communication, and media representation.

    Beyond the classroom, she actively involved in academic leadership, professional training, and community engagement.
