Akash Barua is a Lecturer in the Department of English, specializing in linguistics and anthropology. His research focuses on the intersections of language, power, and politics in protest movements, with particular interest in discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, and cultural narratives. He teaches a range of undergraduate courses, including Introduction to Linguistics, Advanced Writing, Psycholinguistics and Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis, and Literary Criticism. His teaching integrates linguistic and anthropological perspectives, encouraging students to critically examine how language shapes social structures, ideologies, and identities.
